If as a result of many hours of shopping, you still could not find suitable outerwear for yourself, then try to sew a raincoat with your own hands, which will help you to express all your spontaneity and personality.
You will need to work:
- Cashmere fabric - 3 m.
- Lining material - 3 m.
- Serpyanka - 2 m.
- 5 small and 10 large buttons.
- 2 shoulder pads.
- Ready pattern.
Sew a raincoat, guided by this workshop:
- Carefully transfer all the details of the pattern to the fabric, so that you get 2 pieces each. Fold the cashmere in half, circle the contours of the parts. Repeat this procedure twice.
- Cut out all the elements, be sure to measure 2 cm for allowances for the seams, except for the sleeves and the bottom - here you will have to make allowances of 5 cm.
- Glue the sickle. Again, draw the outline of the patterns with a pencil on a sickle and soap on the fabric.
- Using a ruler, measure the edges for the seams, cut off the excess fabric.
- Circle the lines on the selection, that is, indicate the location of the loops, buttons, indent lines and folds. Thread all marks.
- Cut out rectangular pockets (choose the size of your choice) bend them and sew them. Cut corners and edges-allowances, departing from the stitch 5 mm.
- Remove the sickle from the pocket, leave, not reaching the seam 1-2 mm, iron the seams.
- Turn out the pockets, thread the sides of the seam over the sides of the seams, sew at a distance of 1 cm from the edge.
- Take one front part, pin a pocket burlap to it with a pin (measure the size of the burlap and cut the lining fabric), glue the burlap of the lining material to the other part. Make stitches so that you end up with a pocket.
- Each detail of the coat will have a stitching in order to avoid deformation of the seams. Thread them by hand before fitting.
- According to the same principle, make a second pocket, fasten the details of the cloak.
- Take the details of the future collar, lay them on top of each other, fasten, sew. Remove the sickle, cut the allowances, leaving 5 mm, straighten the seams with an iron. Since the line on the collar will be semicircular, make undercuts without reaching 1-2 mm to the seam.
- Sew the lapel details on the collar.
- Stitch the collar, turn inside out, sweep by hand and sew.
- Make absolutely identical elements from the lining fabric to the sleeves and the base of the coat. The only difference is that they will be single. Sew them together using a pattern.
- Process overlock, iron.
- Sew parts for the fabric of the sleeves from the lining fabric. Gather the edges of the mount lightly, sew the shoulders, attach the sleeves.
- First turn up the bottom of the lining 2 cm, then another 2 cm and sew.
- Sew the main fabric of the sleeve on one side, attach loops to it. Then sew on the other side.
- You will also need epaulets. Stitch them, cut them out, glue the sickle. Sew, remove the sickle, iron.Next, follow the pattern: twist, flip manually, stitch.
- Using the same principle as shoulder straps, make loops for sleeves.
- Sew a sleeve together with ready-made epaulets.
- Connect the lining to the fabric of the cloak. Then connect the sleeve lining to the base material.
- Process the bottom of the product on the overlock, hem it by hand.
- Insert the belt loops into the sleeve. Similarly, make a belt to the coat.
- It remains to break through the loops, sew on the buttons.
Of course, not every novice can do this job. But if you are even a little versed in the sewing technique, then feel free to try to implement this idea.
