The front surface for the dishwasher is a decorative panel hiding it. As a rule, they perform it from the same material as other front surfaces of kitchen furniture. The decorative panel looks like an ordinary cabinet, and you can’t guess that a built-in dishwasher is hidden behind it.

The advantages of fully integrated appliances in 45 and 60 cm with a hanging front part include:

• Simplicity of arrangement of kitchen design. No need to pick up dishwashing equipment to match the color of the kitchen furniture - it will still not be visible.
• The control panel is hidden, which means that the equipment is reliably protected from children's pranks.
• An additional surface partially dampens noise from a running machine.

Important! Most often, 1.6 cm thick MDF is used to make a decorative panel. As a coating, a special film and a laminate can be used.

Sizing

Dimensions of the decorative surface depend on the size of the dishwasher:

• The standard width of the equipment is 450 and 600 mm, the height of most of the models is 820 mm.
• However, if necessary, a compact model of 500 and 600 mm can be found for sale.

First you need to determine the actual dimensions of the dishwasher, and then order the decor.

Important! The figures given (450, 600 mm) are averaged. The actual dimensions of the device may vary by several centimeters. It will not be possible to fix the facade part, since its ends will already be covered with a decorative film.

Height also needs to be carefully calculated. The height of the door of the dishwashing unit is slightly less than the height of the decorative wall. So that the panel is flush with the countertop, you need to adjust the legs of the dishwasher so that it fits under the countertop precisely.

For a partially built-in modification, the height of the facade depends on the width of the control panel on the door. Mounting it is much easier compared to fully-built models.

Do-it-yourself installation of a facade on a Bosch dishwasher

It is possible to equip the front part after the machine is installed in the niche intended for it, and also connected to the drain and the water supply. To complete this task you will need:

• Screwdriver Set.
• Mounts
• The handle for the door.
• Roulette.
• The facade itself.

Important! Many built-in models have complete instructions for installing the front panel and layout templates. Models from Siemens and Bosch are equipped with screwdrivers.

Before installing the facade on the dishwashing machine, attach the unit to the countertop and side walls of the furniture. Screw the door handle to the facade with a screw. Now determine the distance at which the facade fasteners should be located. This is necessary so that the facade canvas is flush with the furniture surfaces. To calculate, perform the following measurements:

• The gap between the facade of the adjacent cabinet and countertop (A).
• The distance from the countertop to the upper fastening of the facade (B).
• The interval from the edge of the front of the dishwasher to the attachment point is calculated as (BA).

Important! Today, on the shelves of shops you can see a huge assortment of all kinds of dishes, but some of its types can be washed in a special way. Therefore, before loading kitchen utensils into the dishwasher, be sure to find out what can be washed in the dishwasher. 

Operating procedure:

• Take the template (it has already been said about it, it is included), attach it with tape on the facade from the inside, in accordance with the measurements made. Using the template, outline the holes for mounting.

Important! If possible, first practice on a piece of unnecessary plywood, so as not to spoil the surface.

• Using a drill, drill holes according to the marking, but not through, but about примерно of the thickness of the facade. It is possible to fix the front wall without drilling, but with holes it is more reliable.
• Hang the front panel and fix it with screws. Check how free the door is. If the wall rests on the base, a gap can be made in the base (facade thickness + 3 mm). This option is quite appropriate if good regulation of the front surfaces cannot be achieved by twisting the legs of the dishwasher and furniture.
