Causes of malfunctions

All the reasons that can provoke water retention in the unit can be divided into 2 groups:

  • Blockages.
  • Damage to any component of the device.

The most common reasons that a Bosch dishwasher does not drain water are:

  1. Kink of a drain hose. Water physically cannot get out of the car. In this case, it is enough to straighten the hose and try to connect the dishwasher again.
  2. Clogged filter for rough water treatment. Do not be lazy to clean dishes from food debris before loading them into the dishwasher. The remains of food, bones, napkins clog the filter, and water is trapped in the tank.
  3. Clogged drain areas. Seeping through the filter, pieces of food create a blockage in different areas of the drain - in the pump, drain hose or nozzles.
  4. Pump burnout.
  5. Damage to the pressure switch.
  6. Software module failure.

Important! For more information on dishwasher malfunctions and troubleshooting algorithms, see the separate review. Bosch Dishwasher Error Codes.

Important! On some Bosch models, the program does not turn off due to water retention in the tank. The machine washes dishes in dirty water. The problem with the drain can be seen only after the program has worked out completely. In some models, the unit stops in the middle of the cycle. At the same time, the letters END are displayed, which means a malfunction of the program.

Pump replacement

So, the Bosch dishwasher does not drain the water. What to do

  1. First of all, disconnect the unit from the power supply.
  2. Inspect the dishwasher hose, then thoroughly inspect for “plugs”. In this case, it is advisable to start with a drain hose.
  3. Disconnect the drain hose from the sewer and lower it into a bucket.

If water spills out of the hose, it means a blockage in the sewer or siphon. If water does not flow, the problem must be sought in the dishwasher itself.

Proceed in this order:

  • Open the appliance door, remove the baskets to place the dishes.
  • Unscrew the filter cover at the bottom of the machine, pull out the filter cup.
  • Pull out the net.
  • Rinse the mesh and filter with running water.

Important! For greater efficiency, use a dishwashing detergent and an old toothbrush.

  • Unscrew the cap from the drain pump, check if the impeller rotates freely.

Important! Be careful. Sometimes fragments from broken dishes get into the pump.

  • Close the pump.
  • Replace the filter.

Why doesn't the dishwasher drain the water even after cleaning the filter? Most likely, the matter is in the breakdown of components, and the pump first of all. Access to the pump is as follows:

  • Scoop out water from the machine.
  • Pull out the filter.
  • Turn the appliance over and remove the drip tray fixed to the screws.

Important! Use caution. The indicator “Aqua-stop” can be fixed on the pallet, it is necessary not to damage the wires.

  • Disconnect the Aqua-Stop sensor.
  • Unscrew the pump and release it from the hoses.
  • Check the impeller of the pump.If it does not spin, then it is advisable to replace the pump with a new one.
  • Connect the multimeter to the pump terminals. The normal resistance value is 0.2 kOhm. Check the voltage supply from the pump to the control board.
  • If the pump turned out to be faulty, you need to purchase a new one and put it in the place of the broken one.

Important! Do you have problems with your dishwasher regularly? The reasons for this may be non-compliance with the rules of operation of the equipment. There is an article specially for you on our site of useful tips “How to use a dishwasher?”

Broken software module or pressure switch

The reason that the water does not leave the unit may be a malfunction of the water level indicator. The sensor does not supply an appropriate signal to the control module, so the pump does not work. The tank remains filled with water. In this case, the pressure switch must be replaced.

Important! If there is a breakdown of the control module itself, it is better not to try to repair anything yourself. This work can only qualitatively be performed by a specialist.
