If after a grandiose meal you loaded a mountain of dirty dishes into the unit, and the dishwasher does not collect water and buzzes, do not rush to despair, because sometimes the problem can be solved quickly enough.
Important! Today, appliances of various manufacturers are used in everyday life. Models of units differ from each other in technical parameters, dimensions, capacity, power, power consumption and various operating modes. But, despite all the differences, the principle of operation of the devices is approximately the same. Therefore, if the Bosch dishwasher does not draw water, the reasons will be the same as those of the unit of another company. The reasons for incorrect operation of the dishwasher can be both in a minor defect, and in a connection error.
The most common causes of a dishwasher failure are as follows:
- Inlet valve filter clogged.
- Breakage or incorrect connection of the filling valve.
- Faulty door lock device.
- Malfunction of the pressure switch (water sensor).
- The managing model has failed.
- Aquastop system malfunction.
Also, by link, we have prepared a separate article from which you can learn more about all the likelythe reasons why the dishwasher does not wash dishes well.
Other reasons
You can not discount the mistakes of the users themselves. Very often, owners of the dishwasher call the master, complaining that it does not work correctly. And the causes of this problem can be commonplace:
- Lack of water supply.
- Water hose transferred by something.
- Turning off the water supply of the apartment.
In order not to bother experts in vain, we will find out what to do if, for example, the Ariston dishwasher does not collect water.
to contents ↑Simple tricks to fix the problem
If the dishwasher has been working for a long time, and then suddenly stopped pumping water, first check:
- The presence of water in the tap. Make sure that the water supply in the house is present.
- Unit door density. The machine will not work until you close the door tightly until it clicks. Only in this case the washing process will start.
- Valve. Check if the shut-off valve with which the water source is shut off is open. A special valve is always installed on the system connecting the machine to the water supply, blocking the water, and if it is closed, the water will not be supplied to the dishwasher.
- Hose of water supply to the dishwasher. If there are serious kinks or something is heavy on the hose, then the machine’s unwillingness to work is understandable. Fix the problem, and the dishwasher is involved in the process.
Do it yourself do-it-yourself dishwasher
If you have completed all the simple manipulations, and the dishwasher still does not receive water, then unplug the equipment from the power supply and try to determine the type of breakdown. About how to diagnose and fix the malfunction, we will describe below.
Filter clogging
Hard water in the water supply forms salt deposits on the walls of the intake filter. Often various garbage gets into the water supply system, so it is not surprising that the filter is clogged and the car refuses to work.
To correct the situation, proceed as follows:
- Shut off water access.
- Unscrew the water supply hose.
- Locate the filter screen at the inlet valve inlet.
- Remove the filter and immerse it in a solution of citric acid for 30-60 minutes. After that, clean the net with a needle.
- Reconnect all machine parts in the reverse order.
- Check unit operation.
If you have any problems with a household appliance brand Virpul, then before you begin to carry out any repair work, be sure to read instructions for the dishwasher Virpul.
Defective intake valve
The reason why water cannot get into the machine may be a malfunction of the filling valve. This element is quite sensitive, it can even damage the pressure drop.
Important! Bosch equipment manufacturers recommend installing additional pressure reducing valves in the instructions supplied with the product if the pressure in the water supply is higher than 1 MPa.
If you ignored the manufacturer’s recommendations and, in addition to the flow-through cleaning filter, did not install a pressure reducing valve, and the water pressure is significant, the filling valve will quickly break and will not open at the right time. Or it will remain open and water will constantly pour into the car.
It is almost impossible to repair the valve, so you have to replace it. But if the inlet valve simply clogged with dirt and opens, then the problem is solved by ordinary mechanical cleaning of the part.
Broken door
The door of the dishwasher must close with a characteristic click, if this is not the case, it is best to contact specialists who will replace the locking device or carry out a complete repair of the broken part.
Water level sensor malfunction
If the Electrolux dishwasher does not draw water and buzzes, then the pressure switch may be the culprit of this behavior of the unit. This device must accurately determine how much water is in the machine at a given time, and if it breaks, the following can happen:
- Water will actually come in, but the control module will not know about it.
- The dishwasher will overflow and the pump will begin to pump out excess water in emergency mode.
- The control module will generate a system error and stop the program.
You can diagnose a water level sensor breakdown by the following signs: the machine does not work, but there is water in the dishwasher, the pump works and pumps it out, water purrs in the drain hose and pipe. All these signs indicate that, most likely, the pressure switch has broken and must be replaced.
Control Module Issues
All modern dishwashers are equipped with artificial intelligence that controls the entire process. The control module analyzes the specified operation cycle and issues commands to all individual units of the unit.
If the module fails, the machine will not even be able to turn on to carry out the washing process.
Important! Only specialists can deal with the control module, and that’s not all. If you want to look at this important part of the machine, you must first disassemble the door of the dishwasher, since the control module is inside it.
Aquastop worked
The modern Aquastop system is designed to prevent the risks of water leakage. Therefore, if the Aquastop inlet hose works by detecting a leak, the valve inside the hose will be securely plugged and water will not get into the unit.
With the new Aquastop hose, valve capacity is ideal. Therefore, if a model with a protective system has ceased to draw water, then there can be two reasons:
- The system detected a leak and proved to be in action.
- Damage to the system itself.
Important! And in that, and in another case, the help of specialists is necessary, since the Aquastop hose itself is not subject to repair and replacement.
If you are using a Bosch dishwasher and you have a problem with it, then to find out what the problem is, first read carefullyBosch dishwasher instruction manual, and only then fix the problem.
