Dishwasher bosch error e15
Dishwashers are increasingly taking their place in modern kitchens. And the units of the German brand Bosch are one of the most popular. The technology of this company is considered intellectual, as its function includes adjusting the temperature and pressure of water. The machine itself controls the time of the dishwashing process. However, even despite the high technological characteristics, the time comes to repair an almost perfect unit. Today we will consider the question: is it possible to fix the breakdown on your own if the dishwasher is Bosch and the error is e15.
to contents ↑Error codes - what are they talking about?
In order to determine for sure what is happening with the dishwasher and what malfunctions it displays, you need to learn how to decode error codes. For each technology, manufacturers use their own functioning codes. For example, in various units error e15 may indicate completely different malfunctions.
Important! All codes are mandatory indicated by the manufacturer in the instructions that are attached to the equipment. Having looked into the manual, you can easily determine the degree of damage and, according to the recommendations described in the instructions, fix the problem yourself.
Sudden malfunctions of the device can be caused by:
- Failure in the control program.
- Breakdowns of individual parts.
To accurately determine the cause of the malfunction, use a hardware testing system. Proceed as follows:
- Activate the test program on the implement.
- After activating the system, an error code will be displayed.
- Find the appropriate code in the instructions for the dishwasher and read the explanation for it.
Each manufacturer uses its own error codes, but all of them consist of alphanumeric designations. Consider the option: Bosch dishwasher - error e15.
to contents ↑What problems are displayed by the code e15?
If the error e15 is displayed on the display of the dishwasher, then we are talking about the activation of the Aquastop system. This system is used by modern manufacturers to protect aggregates from leaks.
The Aquastop system operates according to a simple algorithm:
- In the event of a hose leak or depressurization of the device, all excess water is sent to the drip tray.
- After 0.2 l of water is in the tank, the float pops up and closes the contacts of the microswitch.
- As a result, the electricity stops flowing to the safety valve, which means that the water supply is suspended until the breakdown is completely eliminated.
- At the same time, liquid is pumped out of the base of the dishwasher.
The reasons for the flow of water into the pan may be as follows:
- Leakage sensor malfunction.
- Crack in the pipe.
- Pipe tightening.
- Blockage in the drainage system (filter, hose or sewer). May need replace siphon.
- Defect in the water spray.
- Loss of tightness of the connection of the metal bowl with the main tank.
- Excess foam in the dishwasher can cause leakage. As a result, the Aquastop system will work. Always use the detergent in the amount indicated on the package.
Important! If the message “error e15” appears on the screen in the Bosch dishwasher, first check to see if the AquaStop function is on - it may just not be activated.
If the “Aquastop” function is activated and an error is displayed, then you should not postpone the repair of the unit, since over time water will begin to accumulate in the case. And this can lead to more serious problems. Moreover, in most cases, you can solve the problem yourself.
to contents ↑Important! Use only special products for dishwashers - salt, rinse aid, powder, tablets, etc. We talked about them in detail in our separate review. "Means for dishwashers".
How to eliminate leaks in a Bosch dishwasher?
To eliminate the leak, proceed as follows:
- Unplug the unit.
- Tilt the machine 45 degrees, after substituting a container under the leak.
- Drain the pan.
- Dry the device during the day.
Of course, if the machine is built into the kitchen, it is inconvenient to tilt it, but this is better than calling the master and paying for its services.
to contents ↑Important! Fat, food debris, small debris, etc. may accumulate inside the machine. This causes an unpleasant odor from it and affects the performance of the dishwasher. To prevent this from happening, the machine requires specific care. Follow the link and find out how to clean a dishwasher at home.
How to fix e15 error?
As soon as you pour water from the pan, the aquastop sensor will turn off and the machine will start up normally. But if the malfunction is more serious, then the machine will work until the moment when the water fills the pan. To completely eliminate the malfunction, it is necessary to determine the cause of the leak and eliminate it.
We clean the filter, change the nozzles and the drain hose
A clogged filter with food residues can cause an E15 error on a Bosch dishwasher. To fix the error, proceed as follows:
- Open the car door.
- Remove the dish tray.
- Unscrew the cover at the bottom of the unit.
- Remove the filter. It is a cylinder with a mesh.
- Remove all food debris, rinse the filter thoroughly with running water.
Important! Along with cleaning the filter, at the same time check the sewer drain for clogging. If necessary, remove the blockage.
To clean or replace the drain hose (if necessary), the machine body must be disassembled. How to disassemble the Bosch machine and clean the hose:
- Unplug the machine.
- Pull out the filter.
- Prepare a place to inspect and disassemble the dishwasher.
- Unscrew the left and right housing covers with a screwdriver.
- Turn the machine over so that the bottom is on top.
- Unscrew the front panel with legs with an asterisk screwdriver. The bolts holding the panel are located on the left and right sides of the machine.
- Unscrew the metal panel located under the front panel.
- Unscrew the two bolts under the metal bar.
- Remove the bolts on the back of the device.
- Disconnect the rubber bands holding the pump on the bottom of the machine.
- Remove the two plastic plugs on the sides of the device.
- Disconnect the door holder.
- Carefully remove the lower case.
Important! Do not forget that the use of hard water negatively affects the condition of the equipment and leads to its breakdown. Use for dishwasher water filters.
So, the car is disassembled and access to internal spare parts is open. Further, to resolve the e15 error that the Bosch dishwasher shows:
- Find the end of the drain hose.
- Using pliers, carefully remove the hose from the pump.
- Clear a hose of blockages.
- Carefully inspect the hose for cracks and defects. If necessary, buy a new spare part and a clamp for attaching the hose to the pump.
- Reassemble the machine in the reverse order.
Important! Having disassembled the machine, inspect all nozzles. They may be loose. In this case, buy new clamps and put on the nozzles. If the parts are damaged, get new nozzles and change them.
Change the leakage sensor and sprinkler
Problems with the malfunction of the sensor and sprinkler are extremely rare. In the event of a sensor malfunction, the element can be triggered even when there is no water in the pan, and vice versa - it cannot be triggered when there is water in the pan. Therefore, with such a problem, the sensor must be changed.
Important! The sensor is located on a plastic cup at the bottom of the device. Changing a spare part is very easy, the main thing is to find the original spare part.
Replacing a defective sprinkler is also not difficult. There are two sprinklers in the car. They are freely sold in the store, as they are interchangeable.
To replace the lower sprinkler and eliminate the e15 error on the Bosch dishwasher, follow these steps:
- Pull out the dryer.
- Press the sprinkler holder with a screwdriver, remove it.
- Insert a new sprayer until it clicks.
Important! The top sprayer is on top of the dryer and changes in the same way.
In order to fix the problem associated with the loss of tightness in the connection of the metal bowl with the main tank, you must:
- Partially disassemble the machine pan and unscrew the screws that secure the bowl.
- Then - carefully prepare the surface and grease the joint with sealant, put the bowl in place and assemble the machine.
- After the sealant has dried, you can safely use the device.

Under the Bosch brand, only high-quality, functional and expensive equipment is produced, which means that appropriate care is required. To ensure that the machine never produces errors, exclude as much as possible all factors affecting breakdowns: regularly conduct technical inspections, operate the equipment correctly and buy only high-quality detergents. Only in this case you will never have to wash the dishes with your hands - the household “assistant” will do it for you.
