If your Indesit washing machine does not drain, then an error code f05 may appear on its screen. It means a malfunction in the drain system.

What can fail, break? There are two options:

• drain pump - the most likely breakdown;
• water level sensor - it’s also a pressure switch.

During a water sensor malfunction, the following actions occur: the pump pumps water out of the tank, the drain process is completed, while the pressure switch does not give a signal about everything that happens in the machine, namely the lack of water. As a result of all this, the program freezes and the Indesit f05 washing machine error code appears on the display.

Important! In some cases, during such an error, the Indesit machine’s drain hose, pipe or sewer branch is heavily clogged, respectively — cleaning them eliminates the problem.

How to fix and where to look for a malfunction in the drain system?

The first thing to do when error f05 appears on the display is to eliminate all possible blockages in the entire drain path. To check the entire drain filter:

1. At the bottom of your Indesit washing machine, find the small door or panel and open it.
2. Behind it you will see a cover that you must carefully rotate counterclockwise, and then pull it out by pulling it towards you.

5. Remove the bolt that holds the pump to the housing.
6. Now lay the Indesit on its side.
7. Remove the pump from the bottom.
8. Loosen the hose clamp.
9. Remove the hose from the machine body.
10. Flush the hose.
11. Assemble the machine following the instructions, but in reverse order.

You can immediately check the clearances inside the drain pipe:

1. Disconnect it from the pump, tank.
2. Rinse it under water and then reinstall it.

If the drainage system is without any blockages, do not rush to assemble the machine, but immediately inspect the pump. Disassemble and clean it too, and possibly replace it with a new one.
