Not all sinks made of artificial materials have built-in holes for the faucet, mixer, filter, and so on. In this case, with a sharp blow you need to hammer out a suitable hole. Important! Do not be afraid to work with tools with artificial material, as it is many times stronger than natural stone and its properties are more like plastic, which is easy to process.
The whole process is as follows:
- Turn the sink over.
- We make markings on it using the lower nut of the mixer.
- Drill a hole with a drill and cutter (diameter 35 mm).
- Perform the above steps with all other holes.

Installation of a kitchen sink made of artificial stone
Before you begin, you will need to prepare all the necessary materials and tools. Installation is carried out by a completely ordinary set, which is likely to be found in your home. You will not need any expensive machines.
So, here is a list of everything you need:
- Finished sink.
- Pencil.
- Drill.
- Jigsaw.
- Sealant for sealing joints (it is better to take silicone).
Working process:
- We determine the installation location and the shape of the sink.
- We buy the product in the store.
- If the manufacturer has not provided a template, turn the sink over and place it face down on the countertop. Do not forget to observe a distance from the outer edge of the sink of at least 5 cm, but not more than 11 cm, which can lead to inconvenience in use.
- We circle the structure strictly along the contour, and then retreat inward to the length of the outer edge of our sink and draw the next circle, which will serve as the line for cutting.
- Now drill a hole so you can insert a jigsaw.
Important! It is enough to drill one hole for a round sink, and four from each corner for a square sink.
- We begin to cut along the previously planned line, not rushing anywhere.
Important! Do not be discouraged in case of small deviations - this is quite normal for those who do such work for the first time. Simply return to the drawn line and repeat the process again.
- We paste over with masking tape places that can be damaged during further work - so you will protect the structure from unnecessary tangential effects of a sharp tool.
- After cutting the sink, we take out its inside.
- Thoroughly clean the saw cut from sawdust and other contaminants.
- Apply sealant in a uniform layer to the saw cut of the existing countertop. This is a mandatory procedure that protects the table from moisture and subsequently from swelling of the material.
- We cover with a sealant and the inside of the side. Remove excess silicone until it solidifies. We are waiting for the sealant to completely dry.
- Turn the sink over, and then carefully insert it into the hole without touching the sealant layer.
- We connect the siphon to the sewer pipe. We pick up the flexible wiring of the purchased mixer, and then connect it to the hot and cold water pipes.
- We check the tightness of the joints.
- We unscrew the aerator from the drain of the installed mixer.
- We open taps with hot and cold water. After 5 minutes, install the aerator in its original place. We cleaned the system of dirt and debris formed in it.
