How to arrange an opening?

The dimensions of the lifting structure are determined by the location of the opening between two floors. It is with the arrangement of the opening that the installation of the stairs begins. It is most correct to place it between the supporting beams.

If the beams are too frequent and the distance between them is less than the width of the future structure, 1-2 beams can be cut. To enhance the bearing capacity of the floor, adjacent beams are connected using transverse elements of the same section with them.

Arrangement of steps

The layout rules using the template are as follows:

1. Put the marking in the form of a right triangle hypotenuse on the upper edge of the support. The horizontal leg of the triangle is the width of the step. The length of the vertical leg is equal to the size of the approaching opening.
2. Mark the entire length of the support immediately.
3. Depending on what type of staircase structure you have chosen - on bowstrings or on braces, cut out the grooves for the steps or cut out the notches of a triangular shape. The supports should mirror each other.
4. After the supports are prepared, mount the steps, laying them on the braid or inserting into the grooves of the bowstring.
5. Install risers (optional).

Important! A ladder without risers looks more elegant and light, but it is not without a serious drawback. It is not safe for children.
