• For the manufacture of countertops - an array of glued beams 42 cm wide and 30 mm thick.
• For shelves, an edged board of a given size or an array of timber with a width of 30 cm and a thickness of 10 to 20 mm.
• For the manufacture of crosses a beam measuring 50 by 50 mm.
• For jumpers between the legs, a bar measuring 30 by 30 mm.
• For crossbars and legs, a 80 by 30 mm board.
• Wood screws.

You will also need such construction tools:

Features of making nightstands for TV

Features of the assembly of the frame:

1. The most important step in preparing the frame is the manufacture of six legs. In accordance with the drawing, their height will be 72 cm. It is better to cut them together with crossbars that fasten the end and back walls together in the next steps.
2. Their length will be 28 cm, that is, from one meter billet we get one leg and one cross member.
3. After the legs are ready, you will need to fasten them with jumpers longitudinal, and for this we use a bar 30 to 30 mm.
4. In total, we need to prepare 12 blanks, each length will be equal to 72 cm.
5. We fix both legs and lintels with screws that need to be screwed in at an angle of 45 degrees, and for this you need to pre-drill the required hole size.

Important! Please note that the hats of the screws must completely hide in the surface of the jumpers, which will then hide the hats and holes with a special filler.

Install shelves

You can make the middle and lower shelves from a wide board or an array of glued beams:

1. It is necessary to cut pieces of 1.5 cm and fit the boards with a planer to the desired width.
2. The length of the shelves will correspond to the length of the nightstand itself, but minus twice the width of the legs. That is, 170 cm.
3. Then you need to attach the shelves to the longitudinal jumpers with screws.

Cross member installation

The next, no less important, stage, without which you can’t get a reliable TV stand with your own hands, is the installation of crossbars that act as connecting parts between the front and rear of the frame.

We prepared them at the first stage from the edged board while trimming the legs. It remains just to fasten two pieces with bolts on each side. Then you need to saw off two blanks from a beam 30 mm wide. Their length will be equal to the width of the shelves, that is, 28 cm. Sawn elements must be attached at the edges to the legs with bolts.

Crosspiece preparation

If you want the TV stand with your own hands made according to our project to be as stable and durable as possible, then you must definitely make two crosses. There is nothing complicated, the main thing is to accurately make all the measurements:

1. It is necessary to saw off two workpieces from a bar with a side of 50 mm for each side. Moreover, their length will be 66.2 cm.
2. Then we put these bars on top of each other, with the help of a pencil we make markings, setting the distance between the inner corners.
3. We make depth grooves in the blanks according to the obtained contours, while their size will be equal to half the side of the beam.
4. We put the assembled crosses into the frame, with the help of screws we fasten them to the joints so that they go a few centimeters deep into the middle shelf.
5. Next, we drill holes at an angle strictly parallel to the central axis of the crosspiece, into which the screw will be screwed directly.
6. We fasten the crosses to the legs.

Installation of table tops of curbstone:

1. It is better to use a ready-made wooden massif as a countertop, so that it turns out to be perfectly smooth, and you do not have to additionally process it.
2. If you do not have such an opportunity, then you can make a countertop from several fairly wide edged boards, which will need to be pre-processed with a planer.
3. It is better to fix it with the help of screws so that you can calmly lift the bedside table and move it.

Important! Do not forget to leave recesses for the hats, as in all previous steps.

Making a finished bedside table

So, all the most important stages have been completed and the product is ready. But there are a few secrets that you can use to get a TV stand in a modern style. With your own hands you can decorate it in the original way. The most important thing to do is to close all openings with a special filler.
