How to make a decorative lamp from plastic?

A very interesting and exclusive thing is obtained from the most ordinary materials that remain after a picnic.

Materials for work

To make a decorative lamp with your own hands, put next to it:

• Plastic bottle 5 liters.
• LED light bulb with low power.
• Screwdriver
• Pliers.
• Cable with chuck and plug.
• Stationery knife.
• Glue gun.

Important! Take an LED, not an ordinary light bulb, so that such lamps do not become a subject of ignition.

For your information: LED bulbs from 4 to 5 W correspond to a normal 40 W light bulb, and from 8 to 10 W - 60 W, respectively.

The sequence of steps in the manufacture of the lamp:

• Using a clerical knife, remove the bottom from the plastic bottle, and also cut the handles completely off each plastic spoon.

Important! Be very careful not to cut yourself.

• Apply a small amount of hot glue from the gun to the cut points of the “blades” and glue them carefully on the lower tier of the bottle. Approximately you will need 17 pieces for this.
• After - overlap, glue the second and subsequent rows, place the parts in a checkerboard pattern.
• To cover the neck of the bottle, glue together from 10 to 12 “blades” from the spoons, folding them in the form of a ring.
• Insert a cartridge with a screwed-in bulb and cable through the slotted bottom in the bottle.

Important! If this part of the work is difficult for women, ask your husband about it. If you don’t have a husband, buy a cable in the store with the cartridge and plug already screwed to it. You can also take this working part from an old and unnecessary lamp.

• Put a “ring” of spoons on top of the bottle and tighten the cap. To do this, you need to drill a hole in it with a drill, and you can also do this with a hot nail or a self-tapping screw, while holding the cover with pliers.

Your original lamp is ready!

DIY table lamp made of copper pipes

You will certainly decorate any corner of your house with a simple, but at the same time very elegant table lamp made by yourself from improvised materials, in this case from copper.

Important! This lamp will harmonize perfectly in a modern interior from Loft to Rustic. Laconicism and simplicity is the trump card of this table lamp.

You will need such tools:

• Marker and tape measure.
• Pipe cutter and washcloth.
• Thin flat screwdriver and pliers.
• Crosshead screwdriver.
• A tool that is designed for stripping and stripping wires.

Materials you need:

• Copper pipes.
• Copper corners each 90 ° - 7 pieces.
• Super glue and acetone.
• Electric cartridge and plug.
• Electric wire.
• Light bulb and switch.

Mounting technique for a table lamp:

• First take: tape measure, pipe cutter, marker, copper pipes, rag and acetone.
• Using a tape measure and marker, mark the places where you will cut the copper pipes.

Important! Do it scrupulously, measuring accurately every millimeter so that the details do not differ.

• Align the pipe cutter and adjust the diameter of your pipe with a nut. Look at the copper pipe, gradually reconfigure the diameter with the nut so that the closure continues until the pipe is cut.
• Use a rag and acetone to wipe the marking off the pipe.
• Pull the cable through the cut parts.
• Gather all the parts together and glue with super glue. In order not to cause any problems in the future, it is better to immediately glue each part and put it together.
• Despite the fact that superglue acts instantly, wait a couple of minutes. Before proceeding further, make sure that all parts are glued perfectly.
• To install the electrical system, open the front panel of the cartridge cover and strip the insulation. Connect the ground (blue wire) and phase (brown, black or gray) with the two screws that you see inside.
• Reproduce the same process in the switch and the plug.
• In the switch, you will see four small screws and a cable. It must be cut to the height at which you would like to have a switch, and connected to suitable sockets by entering the middle of the small screws.

You just have to screw in the light bulb.

Important! Our parts have: three cuts of 15 cm, one cut of 20 cm, one cut of 25 cm, one cut of 45 cm. We needed 12 tubes. When you design your lamp, pay attention that the size of copper elbows will be added.

It will be most convenient to apply glue with a brush. If you want the lid to be at the very top, install it first.
