Before you start repairing LED chandeliers with a remote control, you need to carefully understand how they are arranged.

Such devices include three groups of electrical appliances:

• Halogen lamp. This unit receives power from several transformers that change the impulse voltage. When the halogen bulbs stop burning, this may indicate a malfunction of individual elements or a breakdown of the transformer.
• Neon lights. Such lamps consist of many small multi-colored diode bulbs that are used to switch backlight modes. Electricity comes from the capacitor, which is part of the LED design. It is thanks to this element that the voltage level is reduced to the required value of the diodes.

Important! These bulbs are switched on in series, which is why in the event of a breakdown in one of them, the others immediately go out. It is easier to replace all diodes than to look for a burned out element.

• Relay with a signal receiver, which is fed to the remote control. The relay receives and processes the radio signal, consists of several electromagnetic parts that switch the current of certain power values. It is powered by a quenching capacitor. The excess electricity that it receives is absorbed by a capacitor acting as a ballast. That is, the longer the chandelier burns, the faster the relay will detach from the board, since in this design it is the connection point that is considered the most vulnerable.

Each chandelier must have a remote control on which there are four buttons. As a rule, it has a reliable and simple design, therefore, even if the lamp works, but does not turn on from the remote control, you can control it using the switch.

The most common problems and solutions

If you decide to repair the Chinese chandelier with a do-it-yourself remote control, then first of all check out the typical malfunctions of such devices:

• The device has stopped turning on from the remote control.
• Some lamps do not light up.
• The chandelier only works when you touch it with your hands.
• The device does not work at all.
• The radio receiver is out of order.

Important! Each of these problems can cause several malfunctions at the same time. That is why, before starting to eliminate them, it is necessary to determine the causes of malfunctions in the operation of the device. To make a diagnosis, you will need a multimeter, which will help determine where exactly the problem lies.

The lamp does not start from the remote control

First of all, we learn how to repair a chandelier with a control panel if it ceases to respond to it.

Perform the following troubleshooting procedure, depending on the nature of the breakdown:

• Check if the battery is working. If you determine that it is discharged, then simply replace it. Check again, if the chandelier starts working, then everything is fine.
• If the battery is working, but the remote control still does not work, then you need to check the buttons. Take the phone and through the camera on it look at the remote control lamp, while pressing each button alternately.

Important! The operation of the button is easy to determine: if the lamp blinks on the phone’s display, then everything is in order. If there is no blinking when pressing a particular or several buttons, it means that you will have to repair them. Better to get a new remote.

• If the buttons and the battery are working properly, the absence of a signal from the remote control indicates that the problem lies with the radio receiver. In this case, it is necessary to replace both the receiver and the remote control. To do this, you will have to buy a new control unit and tune the devices to the same frequency. Then turn off the entire apartment, remove the chandelier and open its box, remove the old receiver after cutting the wires. Then take a new block, put it on the tape in the box, strip the wires of the same color, connect and isolate. Close the box and hang the chandelier in place.
• The buttons on the remote control may stop working due to clogged contacts, this malfunction can be fixed in two ways. Clean contacts from factory grease and dirt, then apply a drop of super glue together with crushed graphite and assemble the remote control. You can also use foil instead of graphite.

Part of the lights stopped burning

A chandelier with halogen lamps is repaired quite differently. Its repair in the event of a burnout of part of the bulbs occurs according to the following scheme:

1. To replace the blown halogen bulbs, you must first disconnect the apartment, then unscrew them and install new elements.
2. If the LED backlight fails, then the only correct way out is to replace all the diodes at once, rather than spend a lot of time searching for the damaged part.
3. If the halogen and LED parts of the device are serviceable, then the malfunction is associated with a transformer that supplies the bulbs. Attach multimeter probes to the output terminals to identify the problem. If there is no voltage at the output, you will have to buy the same transformer and install it instead of a broken device inside the chandelier box.

Important! Remember that halogen bulbs can fail if you touch them with your bare hands. To avoid such a problem, it is recommended to touch them only with gloves.

Light bulbs only light when touched with hands.

The keys on the remote control stop starting up the device due to oxidized contacts, but the physical effect on it makes the lights blink.

This problem is solved simply, follow the instructions below:

1. Take a small knife or scalpel, a piece of lint-free tissue, thinner.
2. Unplug the lamp, disassemble it.
3. Thoroughly clean all contacts.
4. Once all the elements are completely dry, you can assemble the chandelier and connect to the network.

4. Check if the wires are intact, if a short circuit has occurred. If the wires are not damaged, then eliminate the short circuit, connect the bare and twisted ends of the wires with each other using electrical tape.

Repair a broken radio receiver

As a rule, repair of LED devices with DPU comes down to replacing the radio receiver. Purchasing a new device is not an expensive pleasure. Therefore, you can try to cope with the problem yourself.

Repair as follows:

1. Remove the chandelier, remove the receiver.
2. Use a multimeter and verify that this item is malfunctioning. If there is no voltage at the output, proceed to the next step.
3. Carefully study the receiver - if there are burning marks on it, then it will not be possible to repair it.
4. If there are no traces of combustion, then check the capacitors. If the drive capacity is less than one microfarad, you will have to replace it.
