How is the drain tank arranged?

All drain tanks have a similar device. The difference is only in the trigger. There are button devices (there can be one or two buttons), as well as with a drain lever.

A tank is a set of such nodes:

• Filling valve. Its purpose is to maintain water at a given level. The main part of the bulk hydraulic valve is an empty float inside. After the water level has risen to the desired level, the float closes the water supply to the toilet tank.
• Plastic float on the bulk valve. As the tank fills with water, it rises, working on the principle of a rocker.
• Drain valve with overflow system. In modern models, the drain valve is controlled by pressing a button. Another option is to press the special lever or pull the chain. Water is poured into the toilet.
• Overflow. This item is required regardless of device. Its purpose is to control the water level in height. When a certain level is exceeded, water is discharged into the sewer without spilling out.

Mechanical descent is extremely simple. If the float is in the lowered position, water enters through an open bulk hydraulic valve. After the water reaches a certain level, its supply is closed. In modern models, the mechanism is actuated at the touch of a button. When water flows out, the float lowers. The filling valve opens and the tank is filled again with water.

Important! The two-button design has a slightly more complex device, but water is used more economically. When you press one key, the water is partially drained, the second - completely. Such a device is equipped with a membrane hydraulic valve. Under the pressure of the water, the valve opens and water is poured into the tank. As it fills, the float puts pressure on the piston rod, and the diaphragm valve closes. Upon reaching the desired level, it closes completely.

How to fix a toilet bowl? The most common breakdowns

Even a minor breakdown can cause the toilet to become unavailable. And the increased water flow from leakage of the toilet bowl is an unpleasant thing. Here are the most common breakdowns, with most of which it is quite possible to repair the toilet tank with your own hands.

Toilet floor leak

The reason for this, as a rule, is the wear of the sealing ring between the toilet shelf and the bottom. Sometimes - the reason is the wear of the gaskets on the fixing bolts, with which the container is attached to the shelf. If the bolt tightening turned out to be ineffective, then the gaskets will have to be changed. Nothing depends on the design model. Mounts are arranged exactly the same.

Important! When changing seals or gaskets, lubricate them with liquid silicone to extend service life and prevent cracking.

Water flows constantly

How to fix the toilet flush if overflow occurs? This phenomenon can be triggered by a change in the overflow height, insufficiently tight contact of the locking valve and the float, as well as loss of tightness by the float. It may also be that the seal of the drain valve has worn out.

Important! If the locking gasket is worn, adjustment will not help. Have to change the drain mechanism completely.

Faulty start mechanism

By pressing the button, you notice that water does not enter the tank. This malfunction can be eliminated by restoring the integrity of the linkage that links the start-up and drain. The same applies to tanks with a chain or lever.

The tank is filling up very noisy

The reason for this is the disconnection of the tube through which water flows. This problem is typical for tanks with lateral water intake. To eliminate annoying noise, just lift the lid and put the tube on the fitting.

To repair such a device is no more difficult than the usual chain-lever capacity. The only difficulty is that you must carefully disassemble the button design, since it does not differ in special strength.

The algorithm is as follows:

1. Shut off the water supply.
2. Release water from the tank.
3. Being careful, unscrew a plastic nut near the button.
4. Remove the cover.

Further actions depend on what kind of malfunction takes place:

• The tank is poorly filled. Adjust the position of the float.
• Trigger the release key. It is possible that the button shaft is clogged. Clean it, and then put the key in its original position.
• When you press the start, the water does not drain. Most likely, the cause of the breakdown is a break in the mechanism connecting the drain valve and start-up. It can be repaired by using copper wire, or by completely changing the hydraulic valve.
• Leak through the overflow neck. Adjusting the float or overflow height will help here. It is not difficult to do this: unscrew the union nut and set the overflow at the desired level.
• A leak in the toilet from under the valve. Most likely, the drain was already exhausted. The best option is to replace the assembly.

Important! It happens that the valve is installed loosely due to skew. Open and close it again. This will prevent leaks.

How to fix the drain tank? Two-button design

The device is disassembled according to the same principle as the one-button option. Here is a list of typical breakdowns:

• Buttons fall down. To reinstall them, remove the cover by first removing the snap ring located near the keys. Sometimes, if you press the buttons several times, they fall into place.
• If the water does not leave, check the condition of the connecting fittings. If it is broken, replace it with a piece of copper wire.
• Water flows through the drain valve. Adjust the water level by changing the height of the overflow or the position of the float.

Tank repair with bottom connection

Sometimes the reason that a tank equipped with a diaphragm valve is not filling is due to poor water pressure. It is simply not enough to fill the tank, while squeezing the valve. If there are constant problems with pressure, then it is advisable to replace the diaphragm valve with a rod mechanism.

It happens that water leaks in the area of ​​the inlet valve. The design is such that it is always under water. Insufficiently tight connections practically guarantee leakage.
