Materials

Seats for the floor are larger and more voluminous than sofa dummies, because they replace mats and should protect the body from the cold floor. Therefore, they require more filler. It could be:

• synthetic winterizer;
• sintepuh;
• polystyrene granules;
• foam rubber.

These materials hold their shape well, are soft and quickly restore shape after washing. For large ottomans, the remnants of yarn and soft shreds can be used as a filler. The pillow will come out solid, but if nothing else is at hand, this option will also work.

Important! Vata is not suitable for stuffing because it is knotted.

The fabric is matched to the rest of the textiles in the room, it should be not only beautiful, but also durable. Fit:

• wool;
• fur;
• knitwear;
• cotton;
• calico;
• satin, shiny fabrics - silk, satin;
• old clothes - jeans, coats, t-shirts.

Seats from different types of fabric look great, double-sided and knitted from threads.

Important! Do not use elastic and non-stretch fabrics in one product - the bag will quickly lose its shape. Make a pillow out of one material and a removable cover that can be washed separately from the second.

Decorate the floor pillows with your own pieces of felt, making an applique of them. Or if it is an oriental-style thing - thick fringe. A single-color pillow can be decorated with acrylic painting, transferring the picture through the stencil.

Round floor ottoman

This round little thought looks like a huge squash pumpkin and replaces the ottoman for seating.

Materials for work:

• fabric of different colors for the outer cover and plain for the wrong side;
• 2 buttons;
• filler.

Sewing order:

1. Make a wedge pattern with dimensions of 15 * 30 cm from paper.
2. Cut 24 parts, 2 of each color for the front part and the same amount of lining.
3. Trim the edges of the parts from below on both sides so that the rectangle becomes the base of the wedge. So the pillow will turn out to be voluminous, not flat.
4. Connect the lining and the face with pins, stitch along the edge.
5. Sew the pieces in alternating colors. Get 2 parts: top and bottom.
6. Sew them in a circle from the inside, leave an unstitched section.
7. Turn out the pillow, stuff, then sew the hole.
8. Pierce the middle of the ottoman with a needle and pull it, fasten the thread and sew the buttons on one side and the other.

Important! To make a wide pillow based on this model, increase the length of the segment.

It’s much easier to sew a round pillow on the floor with your own hands. It is based on foam rubber, so this pouf keeps its shape perfectly. It will serve as a small children's mattress or temporary table.

Materials for work:

• fabric for upholstery and lining;
• foam rubber;
• buttons for screed;
• decorative cord and ribbon.

Working process:

1. Cut out round 2 pieces of fabric. To prevent the fabric from wrinkling when sewing, make cuts along the edge.
2. Make a foam rubber circle to fit the fabric patterns.To make it easier to work, take thin foam rubber and, having cut out several identical parts, glue it together.
3. Measure the circumference, cut out the side part from the fabric.
4. Sew the upper round part and the side.
5. Put it on the foam, manually connect it to the last round part.
6. Wrap the edges with a cord, sew the tape for the carrying handle.
7. Pull the pillow with buttons.

Important! Such a pouf will look good both in the nursery and in the classic living room. The main thing is to choose the right color and material for upholstery.

Pillow Star

This patchwork seat is sewn similarly to the previous one, but the result is a hexagon:

1. On paper, draw 12 equilateral triangles with a side of 40 cm, transfer the pattern to textiles.
2. Cut out the parts by making an allowance for the seams.
3. Sew 6 parts from the inside. Get the top and bottom of the ottoman.
4. Connect the parts and sew, leaving a cut for eversion and stuffing.
5. Fill the pillowcase with synthetic winterizer.
6. Sew a hole with a hidden seam.

Important! Decorate the middle with a large button, covering it with a cloth.

Pyramid

Learn how to sew a large floor pillow with your own hands, which will replace a child seat. It does not require a pattern - the thing is sewn from one large piece of fabric folded into a triangle.

Important! For a ottoman with a size of 87 cm, a piece of fabric 180 * 90 cm is needed on one side, for a large pillow with a side of 117 cm - 120 * 240 cm.

Here is the work ahead:

1. Spread the canvas in front of you.
2. Draw 3 segments along the wide side, construct triangles - 2 rectangular with an edge and one in the center.
3. Fold the fabric along the short side.
4. Twist, fold the fabric in half again and sew both pieces. The result was an ordinary pillowcase, and in the next step it will take shape.
5. Fold the edge, where there is 1 right triangle to the middle of the center, sew the edges.
6. Turn out a cover, stuff with polystyrene granules.
7. Sew the hole in the same way to form the base of the pyramid.

Important! To fill a standard size pillow, 3 kg polystyrene balls are required.

Rectangular pillow case

A large flat seat is made from old pillows. It can serve both for its intended purpose and as a bed for pets.

Materials for work:

• dense fabric for a cover;
• 2 euro pillows 50 * 70 cm;
• scissors;
• 0.5 m Velcro tape.

The whole creative process will look like this:

1. Cut a rectangle of 110 * 80 cm from the fabric.
2. Bend along the long edge of the cover 2.5 cm, lay a line. This is a place for Velcro.
3. Sew the edges from the wrong side, leaving a 50 cm non-sewn hole in the hem section; sew Velcro along its edge.
4. Turn out the pillowcase.
5. Spread the pillows on the wide side, make a fringe.
6. Tie pillows into one, hide the nodules inward.
7. Put a cover on a pillow, fasten a flypaper.

Important! To prevent the corners of the pillow from sticking out, fold them with a corner and sew them to the pillowcase.

You can make a mattress from the finished pillows by stitching them together, wrapping them with a soft cloth and sewing on the ties. When folded, it will turn into a large floor pillow, on which you can sit.

Flower pillow

If it is not so difficult to make ordinary simple-shaped thoughts, then how to sew an original floor pillow with your own hands, so that you would not be ashamed to give it to your mom or girlfriend? To do this, you just need to decorate the round sidushka, turning it into a magic flower.

Materials for work:

• fleece;
• scissors;
• glue gun.

We sew a pillow:

1. Cut from felt 2 circles and a strip along the circumference.
2. Sew the parts together, leaving a hole on the side for the filler.
3. From the remnants of the fabric, cut large petals.
4. Glue or sew them on the ottoman. They are arranged in 3 circles, while the petals of the upper tier overlap the lower.
5. Fill the middle with yellow thread or cloth.
6. From a green cloth, cut 2 large sheets of the same shape.
7. Embroider stems and veins on them, and cut the edge with zigzag scissors.
8. Fasten them on the back of the pouf.

Important! If you think that such a pillow will collect a lot of dust, decorate only the front side, and make the lower part of dense textile.
