1. Dilute liquid soap or detergent in water.
2. Using a foam sponge, apply the solution to the surface of a pre-inflated mattress.
3. On the foam, it is easy to detect bubbles of escaping air.
4. If there are no bubbles, then the puncture is on the opposite side. Similarly, soap and her.

Method 3

This method is also called dry. It is especially effective if you need to glue a product with a velor coating. The velor surface is not soaped very well. In addition, such a product dries quite slowly.

To dust a mattress, you can use regular flour, dry mustard or starch. The air that escapes at the site of damage blows off the powder, and this is very noticeable. After one or more punctures are detected, it remains only to collect the dusting substance with a vacuum cleaner.

Method 4

No matter how pathetic it may sound, but you can call this method "test of fire." Use regular matches or a lighter. The air leaving the puncture deflects and slightly blows out the flame.

How to glue an air mattress?

After damage to the material is detected, you can proceed with the gluing procedure. The choice of how to repair an air mattress with your own hands depends on where the material is damaged - on the smooth or “velor” side.

Smooth surface

So, for repairs you will need:

1. Scissors.
2. Glue for mattresses.
3. Material for making a patch.
4. Fine sandpaper.
5. Solvent for degreasing.

Procedure:

• Clean the area marked with a market with sandpaper and degrease with solvent.
• Next - cut a patch from a suitable material, preferably oval or round.

Important! The dimensions of the latches are selected so that the distance from the damage in different directions is at least 30 mm. Transparent vinyl material is best suited as a patch for the smooth side.

• After the patch is glued, you cannot use the product for 2-3 days until the glue has completely dried.

Important! Super glue for repairing PVC products is not suitable. Alpha-cyanoacrylic acid can hopelessly ruin a vinyl surface. The air mattress will have to be thrown away.

Velor side

How to glue an air mattress if the side with the velor coating is damaged? As with the smooth side repair, start the repair by stripping the punctured area with a fine-grained skin and degreasing it. However, the patch material is special - flock. Just sticking it to the surface is unlikely to work.

Try this:

1. Using a ruler, tighten the damaged area to the inflation hole.
2. Stick on the patch and leave the mattress for half a day to dry the adhesive.
3. After that, you can turn the mattress back.

Such a patch is outwardly completely invisible. In addition, it will hold firmly, due to air pressure from the inside.

Features of bonding at the seam

How to operate the inflatable product?

• Do not inflate the product too much. Using for inflating automobile, motorcycle pumps and compressors is far from the best idea.
• Release air slowly. If you bleed it too sharply, the seams can be damaged.
• You can clean the mattress with a neutral solution of shampoo or soap. The more chemical additives, the worse. Do not use tools with abrasive inclusions.
