This is perhaps the most responsible and serious stage, if you need to cut the sink into the countertop:
- Place the sink in the center of the lid. The distance from the countertop to the edge of the sink should be 5 cm. If this gap is shorter, then the sink needs to be deepened.
- The interval from the corner skirting is 3 cm or more, so that there are no problems with cleaning. If the dimensions allow, it is advisable to leave a little space on both sides to accommodate sponges and household cleaning products.

How to embed a sink in a countertop: a hole under the bowl
For proper hole making you need a jigsaw. This is a suitable option for chipboard or wood structures. With more durable materials, a jigsaw can not cope:
- Prepare four centimeter holes at the top of the rectangle. In this case, the marking line should not be crossed.
- Place a 2 mm tooth file on the jigsaw.
Important! The direction of the tooth must be chosen the opposite. In this case, there will be no chips on the front surface of the countertop.
- Fasten the wooden plank across the sawn lines with screws so that the cut-out part of the countertop does not fall prematurely under its own weight.
- Remove the cut part.
- Coat the edges of the resulting hole with silicone.

- The siphon is more convenient to attach to an already installed structure.
How to install a mortise sink in a countertop - expert advice:
- The hardest thing is to make the hole correctly. If it turns out to be prohibitively large, then the sink simply will not be able to hold on. You need to cut the hole, slightly stepping back from the marking inward.
Important! If the bowl does not fit in the hole obtained, then you can expand it to the desired dimensions using a rasp.
- Different types of silicone harden in different ways. If you hurry to expose the sink, then an additional rim will not work, since the silicone may burst.
