But you can not make a rather expensive purchase, but make a make-up mirror with your own hands. For a girl, perhaps, such creativity will be quite difficult, so it is better to attach a man to the matter.

The main difference is, of course, in the form. A square or rectangle is without a doubt a classic of the genre. But just imagine a rounded mirror, as it becomes clear, it also looks pretty good. In addition, this form will be appropriate in the room of any style.

When making a make-up mirror with bulbs with your own hands, it is important to choose a backlight. It is different:

- Spot spotlights can be rotated in different directions. Thanks to them, not only a person is illuminated, but also a part of the room.
- Sometimes illuminators are installed behind the rear wall of the mirror. Thanks to the LEDs, the view of the mirror becomes very unusual, which can be used to decorate the interior.
Making a backlit mirror
And now we learn how to make a mirror with bulbs with our own hands. Initially, the preparation of tools and materials will be required:
- Jigsaw;
- Screwdrivers;
- Rulers;
- Shurupov;
- Screwdriver;
- Metal corners;
- Glue;
- Electrical wires;
- Light bulbs;
- Lampholders;
- Mirror glass;
- Thick plywood or treated boards.
How the work is done:
- The board, which is at least 9 cm wide, is assembled with glue and screws into a frame into which a mirror will eventually be placed.
- Using a miter box, the boards at the ends are sawn at an angle of 45 degrees.
- To further strengthen the joints, metal corners are used.
Important! The mirror should fit freely in the frame, at the edges there should be a place in which the bulbs will then be located.
- In the sides of the frame we drill holes equal in size to the cartridges.
- Cartridges must be glued with glue.
- Using thin rails, we glue another frame, with which then the wires on the front side of the product will be covered and the mirror will be fixed.
- Using small screws, we fix the furniture corners on the main frame. They will hold the mirror.
- The design is assembled and painted in the desired color.
- For additional mirror fixing, thin bricks are used.
- A parallel circuit is used to connect the cartridges using electrical wires.
- The wires connect to the power cord.They need to be brought out through a hole that has been drilled in advance.
- Bulbs are screwed in, their work is checked.
Important! You can use plywood to cover the entire structure at the back.
Alternative backlight
The backlight can be done in another way. Often use LED strip:
- An LED strip is inserted into the aluminum profile.
- The profile is put on a mirror.
- Using a special power supply unit, the tape is connected to the mains.

How to make mirror glass?
Few people know that independent manufacture of mirror glass is possible. For this:
- We select smooth glass, cut it to the desired shape.
- Glass is washed and degreased with a 15% potassium hydroxide solution.
- It must be lowered into a container into which warm distilled water is poured.
- To prepare the solution, mix distilled water - 30 grams, and nitrogen silver - 1.6 grams.
- Add 25% ammonia solution to the solution. You need to do this drop by drop. We stop adding ammonia after the precipitate disappears.
- Add 100 ml of distilled water.
- Pour in a solution of 40 percent formalin, 5 ml.
- The glass is moved to a clean container, where we fill the chemical solution.
- The reaction will last approximately two minutes.
- The resulting mirror must be washed in distilled water.
- Then it needs to be dried in an upright position at a temperature of 100-150 degrees.
- Varnish is applied to the dried mirror.

Thanks to the backlit mirror, the room seems to be wider and higher, it looks completely different. Most often they install it in the bathroom.
