Blinds - this is an interior item that closes the window - both from prying eyes and sunlight. They are vertical and horizontal. If you wash the blinds horizontal, then there is no special work, but vertical ones will need to work hard. But in that, and in another case, you must definitely know how to do it right.

Vertical blinds must not be washed, only dry cleaning is recommended for them. If you can’t cope with the problem yourself, then you need to contact the companies that deal with them. They have a cleaning and anti-dusting service.

Washing vertical products

If you do not have the opportunity to contact the company, then still try to do it yourself. To do this, follow this instruction:

1. Remove the bottom chain.
2. Pull out the weights.
3. Remove the slats from the runners.
4. Roll the lamellas into a roll.
5. Tie with a thread.

Important! Roll up and put each in old tights or wrap in gauze.

6. Wash by hand at low temperatures, quickly, without spinning and drying.
7. Do not rub the lamels; let them lie in soapy water.
8. Rinse under running warm water.

Important! The vertical blinds cannot withstand washing in the washing machine; after a few procedures, you can simply throw them away.

9. Dry them on a towel or in general the best option would be to simply hold them upright until the water drains.

Basically, the lamellas are impregnated with a special solution to protect against burnout, moisture, dust, and it is this layer that is washed off during washing. Care for bamboo and wood blinds

Bamboo and wood products do not accept wet cleaning, so the answer to the question of whether it is possible to wash the blinds in the washing machine will be categorical - no. It happens that moisture changes the color of the lamella or some parts may give in to deformation. A tree that is used in production, after drying, often changes its shape.

Important! Caring for such structures comes down only to regularly dust them with a special whisk at least once a week, and once every 2 weeks you can wipe them with a slightly damp, not wet, rag.

Care for fabric blinds

Fabric blinds are also very demanding in care, and they need to be washed only with a soap solution. Nevertheless, it is possible to wash some types of such blinds in a washing machine, but you must do this very carefully.

Important! Wash the blinds every two years. Before washing, remove all fabric and remove removable parts from it.

To wash the blinds manually, do everything according to the following instructions:

1. Roll up the fabric.
2. Soak in warm water with added powder.
3. Leave for a while.
4. Rinse.
5. Hang the damp cloth on the ledge and insert all other parts after they have completely dried.

Wash the blinds in the washing machine in the following way:

1. Remove the lower and upper chains.
2. Remove the lower weights from the lamellas.
3. Roll into one roll.
4. Tie a roll into the laundry bag, if there is no special bag, then take ordinary pillowcases.
5. Put everything in the washing machine.
6. Put such a program in the washing machine.
   • Water heating - 30 degrees;
   • No spin;
   • Use only mild detergent, preferably not powder, but liquid.
7. After turning off the machine, hang in the same way as with a hand wash.

Important! During washing, the lamellas may take a bit. To correct the situation, iron the sheet with an iron, but at a minimum temperature. Detergents lead to discoloration of the fabric if you put a lot of it in the washing machine, so do not increase the proportions recommended by the manufacturer, even if the fabric is very dirty.

Care for aluminum and plastic blinds

They do not require special care, so they are a very profitable option for those who do not want to spend a lot of time cleaning the house. The whole process comes down to the following rules:

1. Each time you clean, simply wipe with a damp cloth and the blinds will not get dirty.
2. Wash the blinds in the bathroom, but avoid getting water on the upper ledge, as steel is often used when assembling it - it can rust and the whole mechanism breaks.
3. If you use a vacuum cleaner - use it to remove dust, and if you have a modern washing model, then also for wet cleaning.

Important! For longer blinds, lubricate all mechanisms with silicone grease once a year. The lamels must be carefully kept when cleaning in the places where they are attached to the cornice.
