to contents ↑Sew in the insert
This is the most common and reliable method that can cope even with fairly large holes and scuffs. Today, there are several fairly simple ways to sew a patch.
Method number 1
You will need the following materials:
- Threads that are most similar to the color of your jeans;
- Threads identical to those that deferred the product;
- Scraps of fabric that will serve as patches - they should be similar to the color of your trousers;
- Tailor marker or crayon;
- Scissors;
- Ruler.
Important! For bold and extraordinary personalities, you can use shreds of skin or a completely different fabric.
In order to put a patch on the jeans between the legs, you must adhere to the following algorithm of actions.
- To start, jeans need to be washed and ironed well.
- Cut the shreds of the required size. They also need to be washed and stroked.
- From above, spread the stepper and back seams (approximately to the middle).
- Using a ruler and marker, on the front side mark out the piece that will be cut out later.
Important! The wiped place should be exclusively behind the cut line.
- Make a seam allowance of about 1-1.5 centimeters. To do this, draw another line parallel to the first.
- Cut damaged tissue along the first line.
- Attach the cut patch to the second leg and do the same operation: draw the markup, add the allowance and cut it out.
Important! Be vigilant, as cut shreds and allowances should be exactly the same.
- The next step is to build a patch pattern. To do this, cut the patch to be attached to thick paper and circle exactly along the contour. Also, do not forget about the seam allowance on the side of jeans.
- Cut out all the necessary parts.
- Transfer the pattern to denim and cut out the patches.
- Fold the top and bottom of the patch face to face. Stitch it to your jeans along the allowance line.
- Grind the edges and trim the excess.
- The bottom part of the seam on the front side must be unscrewed and one or two lines should be laid with threads identical to those that your jeans were delayed.
- Face to face on the back, attach ready-made patches to the jeans and stitch them.
Important! At this stage, you need to carefully monitor that both sides coincide with each other and are at the same level.
- The edges should be sewn with a zigzag seam.
- On the front side, unscrew the inserts, lay a seam on them with threads for deferment, wrap it.
- Sew the middle back seam, fasten the end of the previously open.
- Sew thread on both sides to stitch the seams and fasten the ends.
- On jeans, you should mark the stepping.
Important! If the jeans at the seam are also rubbed, you need to draw a line so that the abrasions are hidden by the seam.
- Sew the stitch seam and sew with stitching threads.
Important! For this method, patches that are made of the same jeans will be an excellent option. You just need to slightly shorten them, and cut off a hole or scrapes with cut rags.
Method number 2
You will need:
- Patch for patch;
- Threads in fabric color;
- Sewing machine;
- Scissors.
Operating procedure:
- Cut a piece of denim that is slightly larger than a hole or scuff. It should completely cover the damaged area.
- Turn the jeans over to the wrong side and sew a hole with a zigzag seam. You must make the seam so that the hole is no longer there.
Important! Before stitching, pay attention to the direction in which the shared thread of denim is located. The line should go parallel to them.
- On the wrong side, attach a patch.
- Sew it to the product with a zigzag stitch.
- Turn the jeans over to the front and stitch the hole in a straight line.
Important! The straight stitch should be sewn on the sewing machine in reverse.
- If you can see the strands of jeans, this means that there is not enough stitching frequency. Therefore, you can add a few more seams.
- Turn the jeans to the back and cut off the excess edges of the patch.
Important! You can stitch the patch up. Thus, you will get rid of the ill-fated hole and get an extraordinary decor.
Method number 3
This method is much simpler than the previous ones. But despite its lightness, it allows you to fix jeans worn between the legs so that the result is an almost invisible patch.
You will need:
- Iron;
- Special patch fabric (available at the sewing store);
- Threads in the color of trousers;
- Sewing machine.
Operating procedure:
- Straighten and smooth the damaged area on the jeans.
- Using an iron, attach patch fabric to the inside of the trousers.
- A zigzag stitch should be placed on the front side. Try to do stitches directly on weaving, repeating the texture of the material.
to contents ↑Important! In order for the finished patch to not be noticeable, you should sew the seam back and forth. First, you need to do it across, and then along.
Sew rubbed jeans
To repair the jeans worn between the legs and in other ways.
To do this, you will need:
- Non-woven;
- Threads in color;
- Needles;
- Iron;
- Sewing machine;
- Scissors.
Getting started to fix the pants:
- Take your jeans and measure the scuff or hole.
- Measure out a piece of non-woven fabric that is equal in size to the damaged part of the trouser fabric.
- Attach the non-woven fabric to the worn place on the wrong side of the product. Iron it with a hot iron.
- Check the strength of the fixed non-woven.
Important! If the non-woven fabric lags behind the fabric after ironing, it should be ironed again.
- Next, you need to use the sewing machine to flash damaged areas. If the hole or abrasions are minor, then at this stage you can finish. Otherwise, there is still an additional patch to be stitched and stitched.
to contents ↑Important! The machine seam should be longer than the damaged area and go beyond it.
What if jeans are already impossible to fix?
- If your jeans are already completely beyond repair, and you can’t part with them at all, you can convert them into ultrashort shorts, which this season is at the peak of popularity. Add a few more holes to them, fringe, embroidery or other decorative accessories. Thus, you will become the owner of a trendy thing, and it would not even occur to anyone that these were previously worn jeans.
- If you have sewing skills, you can alter your denim trousers to a skirt or bag. The rest of the fabric can be put on a hairpin, strap or decorative patches.
- If the above options do not suit you and you would like to keep the product in its original form, you can add additional holes and scuffs to your jeans. This way you create a completely new design without changing their shape.
to contents ↑Important! For an extreme case, you can put at least some patches and use this thing exclusively at home, for example, during repairs.
